I’ve came here twice during my stay in Zagreb. And in both times I was amazed by the quality of the dishes. Everything was super tasty and the service is excellent. We had an outdoor table for both times so we enjoyed the weather even more. Nothing negative to say, very lovely place.
Found this gem while exploring a bit outside the usual row of old city restaurants. The food was fantastic with some traditional Croatian specialties. Great wine list and the wait was exceptionally helpful in recommendations. The steak tartare was very good.
Place I've been coming back for years. They followed my, both private and business, events. What is really fascinating is how they manage to reinvent themselves after so many years of successful business. Today, I tried the new menu of great chef Matija Bregeš and it is great. Restaurant always has good fish, but I was in the meat phase today. Beef tartar is definitely to recommend. The flavours, the spices, all nicely mixed. Main was modern view in very traditional "Zagreb" steak. It is all but what you are used to, but for sure, something because of what you will come back. Happy for this restaurant to show such a bravery, and it pays off! Service and personnel were great as always! Also, tried great new wine, malvazija Bastian!!
Baltazar is one of the great old restaurant in Zagreb. It was my birthday and I wanted to check out what high-end yet traditional Zagreb dining is about and I found nothing disappointing. Good food, professional service, pleasant ambiance, decorated in traditional but elegant style. I had grilled fish with the option of choosing the type and size of fish I wanted. It was grilled to perfection. The fish was deboned to fillet right at my dinning table. How cool is that? I had risotto with a traditional potatoes and spinach side. It was Yummy! Dessert was excellent. I had an amazing Birthday dinner. Highly recommended! It is a walking distance from the Cathedral and the central square

They brought us liver pate with cherry and it was fabulous We had a starter of rabbit ravioli: wonderful balance of salty sweet umami sour with pomegranate seeds, kale pesto and more.
